Happy 6th Birthday

Psalm 118:24 ESV

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Birthdays come once a year. Teaching your children gratefulness at an early age can help them appreciate  their birthdays. Today was my sons birthday and he turn 6. I sung him happy birthday and we prayed. I gave him two simple gifts. He is a Rock fan so I got him the Discovery Kids Gemstone Dig and another rock kit. We didn’t throw him a birthday party but we did go out to Chuck-E-Cheese. We purchase an unlimited game play for 72 minutes, a medium pizza and a thin crust pizza.  He played with other children who were complete strangers. He enjoyed his pizza. We went to the pet store to look at the cool puppies. We went home and sung happy birthday again but this time with his ice cream cake in front of him.   He made a request not to have candles on his cake but I put one on there anyways. He told me “he enjoyed his birthday a lot,” with a big smile on his face. Children are happy with anything as long as you show them love and spend time with them. They don’t need a big party with expensive gifts. We must create  memories that doesn’t include a big price tag. He valued everything and didn’t want more.

Homeschooling with Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-5: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”

Romans 13:8: “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”

Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

1 Corinthians 16:14: “Do everything in love.”

An important lesson I teach my children is love. They know love has no face, price, color, size, and status. Love is for all color, size, disability, culture and for everyone under God.  Love always win in any given situation. There’s no hurt in love. God said we must Love. Our children are watching us. If we display hate for one another’s color, culture, size, status then our children will continue what we have started which will be an on going dilemma.

Homeschooling is the time to allow our children to embrace everyone. It doesn’t matter what background they come from. As a Christian I don’t think that I am Superior to anyone because one thing I know for sure is that love can eliminate hate.  I’ve never seen hate create love. I’ve seen hate create hatred, jealousy, killing, and judging without even knowing someone. It’s my duty to train my children in the direction that I want them to go and that direction is towards love.

Now, don’t get me wrong we can dislike someone’s character, attitude and action but let’s not hate them. let’s pray for them and hope they could become better. Help them if they need help because with love all is possible. We must show our children what acts of kindness are by displaying it with total strangers (poor, elder, emotional distress and more). Let us walk this world color blind and let love lead the way.

I love you guys! 🙂

The Journey Begins

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. -Proverbs 22:6

Welcome to Last Minute Homeschooler. Homeschooling last minute wasn’t easy. My mind said one thing while my heart said something else. In the end I followed my heart. I made sure I knew my state law and I let God guide me. I didn’t worry about the negative view points I received or may receive from family, friends, associates or even strangers. I followed my heart aka my motherly instinct.

My children were home school from birth and they were always ahead. My daughter was remove from the public school system while in 2nd grade and my son was removed soon after during his first year of kindergarten. Did I get awkward stares? Yes, I did and I didn’t care. What I cared about was making the right decision for my family and being able to create a learning environment filled with Godliness, moral, truth, love, fun, patience and more. Now I am happy to say, today I am a home school mom and I love it.
